What to expect at your first session

Here is what to expect at your first training session. Upon arrival we will take a few minutes to get to know you and have you fill out a couple of liability forms.

Your first session is a training and evaluation session. We will be reviewing and running you or your goalkeeper through multiple foundational based technical and game like drills. This gives our staff an opportunity to assess where you are in your development as a goalkeeper. We try not to correct more than 2-3 areas of focus so that you or your goalkeeper are not overwhelmed.

This session will be hard but you will learn a lot! And it will give our staff a baseline of what you know and what you need to improve on. After the session we will notate your account and create a plan with our staff to help you develop. We may also recommend a specific training group that you would be a good fit for based on your age and skill level.

In addition you will be emailed an online form for you or your goalkeeper to complete. We ask that this is completed by the Goalkeepers and NOT the Parents. Parents may assist younger GKs if needed. This form includes questions about your goals and strengths/weaknesses, etc. We want to mentor you and help you reach your goals. We will schedule a 30-minute follow-up Zoom meeting to go over your goals and help you plan your training development pathway with RGA.

Goalkeeper Group Placement:

How Goalkeepers Are Grouped:

We group all goalkeepers based on age, current playing level and skill.

Goalkeepers will be reassessed daily and we will move goalkeepers as we see is best for their development throughout the camp.

How We Access Players For Group Promotion:
Goalkeepers must be demonstrating all but not limited to:

Consistent and improving distribution, consistent and imroving handling skillsets, positive attitude, good work ethic, movement up would challenge and boost their confidence vs. hurting it, there are no concerns of possible injury if they move up in groups, no concerns of the goalkeeper being disrespectful to coaches and/ or peers and more.

Our Policy with Parents Contacting Us About Group Assignments and/or Group Advancement:

Parents, we understand that many of you want to advocate for your child and want your goalkeepers to be with the best. We want that too!

The reality is that not all goalkeepers are ready to take on that challenge just yet. But in time and with proper coaching and development they will.

We ask that you trust our process. We are professional goalkeeping coaches and it is our #1 focus to help your goalkeeper be challenged, learn, build their confidence and grow while at our camps.

Parents who continue to disrespect our boundaries and policies by reaching out to RGA Directors and Staff, demanding that their goalkeeper be promoted, may be given a Verbal and Written Warning.

In extreme cases, those Parents and Goalkeepers who continue to disrespect our policies and boundaries may be dismissed from the camp week early without a refund and/or credit.
